Playwrights
Jaclyn VillanoJaclyn Villano is Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Theatre Daedalus. She has produced and written for every Theatre Daedalus production, and she made her directorial debut at Theatre Daedalus with Project 10 (2009). Villano's plays have been performed at Theatre Daedalus and at theaters around the country.

Her most recent play, Unanswered, We Ride, will premiere in November 2009 at Wild Goose Creative in Columbus, Ohio. A ten-minute version of the play premiered as part of Project 10 (2009) to excellent reviews, and an alternate version (under the title Wave) will be performed as part of Cleveland Public Theatre's 2009 Little Box series.

Villano received the "Audience Favorite Short Play Award" at Penobscot Theatre's 3rd Annual New Play Festival in Bangor, Maine, for her compilation The First Time: A Series of Shorts. The compilation made its Ohio debut at Curtain Players' Playwrights Festival in July 2009, and earned Villano a second invitation to the Last Frontier Theatre Conference in Valdez, Alaska. Villano experienced the wonders of Last Frontier and Alaska during the summer of 2008, when she attended the Play Lab as the author of No Worse for the Wear. The play was also performed at Curtain Players' Playwrights Festival in 2008.

Villano is the author of A Lifetime of Firsts, the 3rd place winner at the Camino Real Playhouse's 2009 ShowOff! New Play Festival in San Juan Capistrano, California. Her short play, Rockabye Bullet, was staged by Raconteur Theatre in Columbus, Ohio, during the summer of 2009. Another play, Ratings Worthy, was performed by New Vision Theatre Company in Oceanside, California as part of their 2009 Summer Shorts Festival. Villano's ten-minute plays, Through the Looking Glass and The Game, were finalists in Heartland Theatre Company's 10 Minute Play Project and Theatre Oxford's 10 Minute Play Contest, respectively. Her play Breathing Room was given a staged reading by the Hamptons Shakespeare Festival in Montauk, New York, where she once worked as the Manager of Children's & Special Events.

Villano is a licensed attorney who served as law clerk to the Honorable James B. Haines, Jr., of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court District of Maine. Villano holds a juris doctorate and a bachelor of arts from the University of Notre Dame.
